Here’s a recipe for a classic appetizer meatball dish:
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef or pork
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup beef or chicken broth
1/4 cup red wine (optional)
1/4 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place flour on a plate and roll the meatballs in it to coat.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides.
- Pour in the broth, red wine (if using), and tomato sauce (if using). Bring to a simmer and cover the skillet with a lid.
- Cook for about 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve the meatballs hot with the sauce as a dip.
These meatballs make a great appetizer for parties or a hearty snack. They can also be served as a main dish with some pasta or rice. Enjoy!
